The weather looks favorable for the return of Ride the Drive this Sunday, August 11. The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., during which select city streets will be closed to motor vehicles and six Parks Hubs will host various activities, bike checks, food, and entertainment.

Ride the Drive started in 2009 as an event celebrating Madison’s commitment to healthy, active living. This tradition continues with thousands of participants coming together to enjoy parks and open streets in a single-day community event.

Participants can stroll, roll, pedal, or glide along the designated 4-mile route that travels in both directions. Eventgoers can begin their day by visiting an Info Booth at any of the six Parks Hubs to pick up a map or scan a QR code, fill up their water bottle, purchase RTD merchandise, and obtain an RTD Prize Pass for a chance to win Parks swag.

The six Park Hubs include:

- Edward Klief Park at 1200 Milton St., partnering with Public Health Madison & Dane County

- Brittingham Park at 701 W. Brittingham Place, partnering with Madison Boats

- Olin Park at 202 E. Lakeside St., partnering with Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR)

- Law Park at 410 S. Blair St., partnering with City of Madison Community Development Division & Warner Park Community Recreation Center

- R. Richard Wagner Park at 728 Jenifer St., partnering with Olbrich Botanical Gardens & Elk's Lodge 410

- McPike Park at 202 S. Ingersoll St., partnering with Sessions and McPike

Media representatives are invited to check in at the Olin Park Info Booth located at 202 E. Lakeside Street. More information is available on RTD Media.

Ride the Drive is made possible through contributions from the Madison Parks Foundation, TruStage, Madison Credit Union, Paul Davis Restoration, and numerous in-kind donors and partners.

The event is organized by the City of Madison Parks Division in collaboration with various city agencies and local organizations.
