Friends of Goodman South Madison Library to host book sale on August 24

The Friends of Goodman South Madison Library are set to host a sale of gently used and donated books, DVDs, and CDs on Saturday, August 24, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sidewalk sale will be held in front of the Goodman South Madison Library at 2222 S. Park Street, regardless of weather conditions. The event will feature items suitable for all ages.

Sale items will be replenished throughout the day, with a bag sale from 2-3 p.m., offering bags for $5 each. Payments can be made via cash or check only.

Prices for the sale are as follows:

- Hardbound books: $2

- Paperback books: $1

- Children's hardbound books: $1

- Children's paperback and board books: $0.50

- CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks on CD: $1

The book sale coincides with the Black Business Hub Ribbon Cutting and the 10th Annual Unity Picnic scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Parking is available in the North Lot of the Villager Mall.

Each Madison Public Library has a Friends group composed of volunteers who support library activities through book sales, bake sales, volunteering, and advocacy work. These groups have been active since 1965.
