All library locations in Madison will be closed for in-person service on Monday, September 2, in observance of Labor Day. The libraries will reopen on Tuesday, September 3, with regular hours.
During the closure, Madison Public Library cardholders can continue to access LINKcat to place holds, check their records online, or renew items. Online collections, including ebooks and downloadable audiobooks from Wisconsin's Digital Library, Kanopy streaming video, and Flipster magazines, will remain available. Book returns will be open for 24/7 service.
Sunday hours will return to three locations on Sunday, September 8. From Labor Day to Memorial Day, Central, Goodman South Madison, and Lakeview Libraries will offer in-person library service on Sundays from 1-5 pm (no phone service available).
The Dream Bus will be off the road from August 26 to September 6 and will return on Monday, September 9 with a new route for the school year. The Dream Bus is Madison Public Library’s mobile library that travels to more than a dozen locations around Madison and into Sun Prairie to deliver library services to those experiencing transportation barriers. This project is a partnership with Dane County Library Service, Madison Public Library, and the Madison Public Library Foundation. More information about the Dream Bus and its updated schedule (available August 26) can be found at madpl.org/dreambus.
