A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Village Of Cambridge regarding voter registration records on November 7, 2024. The request was made by us at Madison Reporter, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
We requested for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. This information is crucial in our role as a media organization, as it aids in our mission of holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
The request was made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and we expressed preference for the information to be provided in an electronic format. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
We await a positive response from the Village Of Cambridge and remain committed to delivering accurate and timely news to our audience.
