FOIA Request to Village of Cross Plains Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In a bid to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Madison Reporter have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization committed to transparency and holding public institutions accountable, access to such public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We believe that this information will greatly aid in our ongoing coverage of the recent elections and will help shed light on voter participation trends in the area.
We have requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of analysis and dissemination. Given our role in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as media professionals.
