The following day, December 9, 2024, he announced significant financial support from federal legislation: "BIG NEWS! We received more than $20 million from the Inflation Reduction Act, which I voted for, to increase energy efficiency & workforce training programs in Madison & Fitchburg. Excited to see even more funding coming to our area that will continue to benefit our community."
Later on December 9, Rep. Pocan addressed labor issues related to wage theft: "Under current federal law, employers who commit wage theft far too often get nothing more than a slap on the wrist. As an original cosponsor of the Don’t STEAL Act, I’m working to change that! It's time for @SpeakerJohnson to bring this bill to the Floor."
