Rep. Mark Pocan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin’s 2nd district, has taken to social media to express his concerns regarding recent developments involving Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump. Pocan's series of tweets outline his intentions to introduce new legislation aimed at addressing these issues.

On February 8, 2025, Rep. Pocan tweeted about significant events in Washington: "This week in Washington, Trump said we should take over Gaza and Musk shut down USAID. I've announced plans to introduce the ELON MUSK Act to fight back." This statement highlights his disapproval of Trump's foreign policy suggestion and Musk's alleged actions concerning USAID.

Later that day, he issued another tweet warning about potential threats to Social Security benefits: "It looks like @ElonMusk wants your Social Security number and may be coming for your benefits next! Stop the Elon Grift!" This tweet suggests that Pocan is wary of Musk's influence on public welfare systems.

In a subsequent post on the same day, Rep. Pocan criticized federal contracts awarded to Musk while pointing out perceived detrimental impacts on government operations: ".@ElonMusk gets $20+ billion in federal contracts while he slashes and burns the federal government. My ELON MUSK Act will prevent 'special government employees' like him from ripping off American taxpayers." This indicates his intention to propose legislative measures through the ELON MUSK Act.
