Rep. Mark Pocan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin's 2nd district since 2013, has recently expressed his concerns through a series of tweets. His remarks were focused on actions involving the Department of Veteran Affairs and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), highlighting potential impacts on veterans' health care and consumer prices.

On February 14, 2025, Pocan tweeted about reported layoffs at the Department of Veteran Affairs. He stated: "So… Musk and Trump fired 1,000 employees at the Department of Veteran Affairs which provides veterans with health care. Two out of touch billionaires who have never served in uniform slashing an agency that serves our nation’s veterans. Who the hell is asking for this?"

Later that day, he addressed cuts to CDC staffing: "A 10% cut to CDC staffing! So when egg prices are at an all-time high - and increasing - due to the bird flu, this is Trump's response to helping consumers?" The tweet was posted at 20:23 UTC.

In another tweet posted on February 14, 2025, at 22:16 UTC, Pocan expressed concern over perceived incompetence in decision-making processes affecting public safety: "People are going to get hurt because these goons don't have a f*cking clue what they're doing."
