Rep. Mark Pocan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Wisconsin's 2nd district, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various issues concerning funding cuts and administrative decisions by high-profile figures like former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. The tweets reflect his stance on scientific research, child care programs, and corporate governance.

On February 18, 2025, Rep. Pocan expressed concerns after visiting scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He criticized "Trump’s action to gut the National Institute of Health", highlighting that such actions could hinder research into diseases like cancer and Alzheimer's. He argued that these cuts are being made to facilitate a $4.5 billion tax cut.

Later that day, Rep. Pocan tweeted about his observations regarding the Head Start program. He praised its role in providing essential child care services for families in need and criticized affluent individuals like Trump and Musk for advocating budget reductions to benefit wealthy interests with significant tax cuts. In his words, "Out-of-touch billionaires like Trump and Musk want to slash funding for programs like this for a $4.5 billion tax cut."

In another tweet posted on February 18, 2025, Rep. Pocan commented on an incident involving Elon Musk and DOGE cryptocurrency, stating succinctly that "This is just gross incompetence from Elon and DOGE."
