Middleton High School swim team honored at Board of Education meeting

Community members can access board meetings online through the YouTube channel MCPASD TV. The recent Board of Education meeting, held on March 3, 2025, included several key topics.

The Middleton High School Boys Swim & Dive Team was recognized for winning their third consecutive Division 1 State Championship. The team achieved eight event victories and set three state records. "Utter dominance," as described by the Wisconsin State Journal, marked their performance.

Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue acknowledged the Choral Department's successful Country Breakfast event and congratulated Coach Kevin Pauls and the MHS Boys Soccer Team for receiving the United Soccer Coaches High School Fall Team Ethics & Sportsmanship Award. She also expressed gratitude to Asher Torbeck and law enforcement partners for hosting a Safety & Security Night.

Principal Chris Dahlk presented Sauk Trail Elementary's Winter AGR Report, focusing on reducing achievement gaps through the Achievement Gap Reduction program funded by Wisconsin. The school has transitioned to AimswebPlus assessments and emphasized professional development in literacy skills.

School Resource Officers (SROs) from Cross Plains and Middleton Police Departments provided updates on enhancing school safety and community engagement. Their activities include responding to service calls, conducting safety checks, and participating in community events.

Director Erin Wheeler reviewed federal grants totaling $4.15 million for the 2024-25 school year, supporting staffing, education programs, and new initiatives like restorative practices training.

Assistant Superintendent Jerrud Rossing discussed updates to the Youth Center Agreement with the City of Middleton due to staffing changes after PASS AmeriCorps ends in 2025. The proposal includes increased contributions from MCPASD.

The Board also reviewed policy revisions related to governance but tabled them for further consideration.
