Two professors from the University of Wisconsin–Madison have been named MacArthur Fellows, an honor that recognizes individuals for their exceptional creativity and potential for future contributions in their fields.

The MacArthur Fellowship, often referred to as a "genius grant," is awarded annually by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Recipients are selected based on their achievements and the promise of continued creative work.
