Mark Pocan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin's 2nd district, recently shared his thoughts on various issues via social media. Pocan has been serving in Congress since 2013 after replacing Tammy Baldwin and has previously served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and Dane County board of supervisors.
On March 5, 2025, Pocan addressed the topic of gender identity, stating "Trans and nonbinary people have always existed and always will. Bigotry and ignorance will never change that."
Shortly thereafter, he criticized former President Donald Trump's economic policies with the statement "If Trump is fighting to lower prices, he's doing an awful job."
Pocan also questioned Trump's stance on education by commenting "If Trump thinks we need to do better on our learning outcomes, then why is he hellbent on dismantling the Department of Education and gutting funds for public education?"
