The City of Middleton Public Works Department has announced several ongoing and upcoming street projects that will affect local traffic in the coming weeks.

A new lane closure will take place on the northmost lane of Century Avenue, between Marina Drive and Allen Court in the southbound direction. The closure is scheduled from October 10 to October 17, 2025, to allow for curb and asphalt repairs. Drivers should expect lane shifts and brief delays. Flaggers and signage will be present to guide traffic, and access to nearby driveways and side streets will be maintained as safely as possible.

Another new road closure will occur on Mendota Avenue, from the UW Health Parking Lot to Oakwood Place, from October 8 to October 24, 2025. The closure is necessary for a sanitary sewer connection for Wells Fargo. Signboards will direct drivers to detour routes, and an emergency vehicle lane will be maintained throughout the closure.

On High Road near Spring Hill Drive and Caneel Trail, daily closures continue for sewer construction work. The closures happen during daytime hours, with the road reopening before 3:00 p.m. each day. There is no weekend work. The adjacent path is also closed for safety reasons. Residents still have access to their driveways. The daily closures are expected to last through Friday, October 10, 2025, depending on weather and construction progress.

The Parmenter Street Reconstruction Project remains on schedule. The project area stretches from just north of Century Avenue to just south of Greenbriar Road. Binder course paving is complete, but the roadway is open only to local traffic as needed. Surface paving is planned for next week, with completion anticipated by mid-October if weather allows. Local access is maintained for residents and businesses; however, through traffic is not permitted.

A no parking order is also in effect from July 1 to October 10, 2025. This applies to both sides of High Road from Spring Hill Drive to a point 125 feet south; the 7000 and 7100 blocks of Spring Hill Drive; both sides of Spring Hill Drive from Lynn Street to a point 185 feet east; both sides of Lynn Street between Spring Hill Drive and Graber Road; and both sides of Graber Road from Lynn Street to a point 180 feet west.

Residents are reminded that active construction zones are restricted to local traffic only. Cut-through driving and speeding are prohibited due to safety concerns and potential damage to equipment and infrastructure.

For more information or updates on these projects, residents can contact the City of Middleton Public Works Department at (608) 821-8370 or visit the city’s website at cityofmiddleton.us.
