Rep. Mark Pocan, a U.S. Congressman representing Wisconsin's 2nd district since 2013, has expressed his views on recent political developments through a series of tweets. Pocan, who succeeded Tammy Baldwin and previously served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and Dane County board of supervisors, shared his thoughts on former President Donald Trump's actions and statements.
On March 5, 2025, Rep. Pocan criticized a statement made by Trump regarding farmers affected by funding freezes. He tweeted, "Have a lot of fun, I love you too" is a shockingly tone deaf thing to say to farmers Trump has screwed over with his funding freezes."
In another tweet posted on the same day, Pocan questioned Trump's decision to pardon individuals involved in the January 6th protests. He wrote, "But didn't Trump just pardon EVERY January 6th protester who beat and injured police officers?!"
Later that day, Pocan commented on Trump's remarks about military recruitment. He noted the irony of such comments coming from someone he referred to as a "draft dodger." His tweet read: "The irony of hearing the draft dodger talking about military recruitment."
