Rep. Mark Pocan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin's 2nd district, recently shared his views on several pressing issues via social media. Pocan has been serving in Congress since 2013 after succeeding Tammy Baldwin and previously held positions in the Wisconsin State Assembly and Dane County board of supervisors.

On March 10, 2025, Rep. Pocan expressed concerns about proposed cuts to Medicaid by House Republicans following a town hall meeting he hosted in rural Wisconsin. He stated, "I held a town hall in rural Wisconsin over the weekend. People are deeply upset and concerned about the House Republican proposed cuts to Medicaid. No wonder my Republican colleagues are being told not to host town halls."

Later that day, Rep. Pocan commented on the stock market's reaction to remarks made by former President Trump regarding a potential recession. He remarked, "Hours after Trump said that there might be a recession, the stock market tanked. A billionaire president playing with the retirement savings of millions of Americans is completely unacceptable."

In another statement posted on March 10, Rep. Pocan criticized an action taken by the Trump Administration involving an activist named Mahmoud Khalil. He asserted that Khalil's detention was a violation of constitutional rights, stating, "The Trump Administration kidnapped an activist in the middle of the night. Mahmoud Khalil's detention is a clear violation of the First Amendment. This is the behavior of an authoritarian regime, not a democracy. He must be released immediately."
