Rising housing costs and the shortage of affordable options continue to affect residents throughout Dane County, impacting families, students, and seniors. To address these issues and foster community dialogue, a public discussion will be held on October 23 at the Middleton Public Library.
The event is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:45 PM in the Archer Room of the library. The discussion aims to help attendees understand the factors contributing to local housing challenges and their effects on the community.
Jocelyne Sansing, Director of the Middleton Public Library, will facilitate the session. The panel will include Taylor Rozman, Housing Stability Director at WayForward Resources; Amy Poole, Families in Transition Coordinator for Middleton Cross Plains Area School District; Daphne Xu, City Planner & Zoning Administrator for City of Middleton; and Nicole Solheim, Senior Vice President of Development at Cinnaire Solutions.
Organizers say the event offers an opportunity for residents to learn about causes behind Dane County’s housing difficulties, explore possible solutions, ask questions directly to local leaders involved in housing matters, and consider ways for collective action. "This is a chance to learn, share, and be part of shaping the conversation around housing in our community," according to organizers.
The discussion is co-presented by WayForward Resources, Middleton Public Library, and Wisconsin Academy.
