Rep. Mark Pocan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin's 2nd district, has recently shared his perspectives on various political and economic issues through social media posts. Pocan, who succeeded Tammy Baldwin in 2013, has been vocal about matters affecting Social Security, government funding, and consumer prices.

On March 12, 2025, Rep. Mark Pocan expressed concerns regarding former President Trump's State of the Union address. He suggested that Trump "laid the groundwork to justify cuts to our Social Security benefits." In an effort to highlight the importance of Social Security, Pocan mentioned that he discussed this topic with Alex Lawson, Executive Director of Social Security Works, during the sixth episode of his podcast. In another post dated March 13, 2025, Rep. Pocan stated that "House Democrats stand united for a four-week funding extension" aimed at preventing harmful cuts and keeping the government operational while allowing time for a bipartisan funding agreement. Later on March 13, 2025, Rep. Pocan criticized former President Trump and Republicans for not fulfilling their promise to lower costs from day one. He pointed out specific increases in consumer goods: "The price of eggs is at a record high," rising by 12.5% from the previous month; coffee prices remain near an all-time high with a rise of 6% over the last month; housing prices also saw significant increases as indicated in his tweet here.
