The City of Madison Clerk's Office has issued absentee ballots to 33,579 voters ahead of the April 1 election. As of now, 13,535 ballots have been returned and are ready to be counted. Additionally, more than 6,500 voters have participated in in-person absentee voting.

Tracking an absentee ballot can provide reassurance as Election Day nears. The process is straightforward:

Visit MyVote.wi.gov and click on the "Track My Ballot" tile at the top of the page. Enter your name and date of birth, then click the search button. After that, click on the "View My Request" button under your name and scroll down to "My Absentee Status." Here you will find the “Completed absentee ballot received” tile.

It's important to note that absentee ballots remain sealed in their envelopes until they are checked into the poll book on Election Day.
