Going green during Earth Month is being incentivized in Dane County through the RoundTrip program. This is a free public initiative inviting residents to adopt sustainable transport methods such as using buses, biking, walking, or carpooling. Participants stand a chance to win prizes as part of the annual Spring Roll Challenge.

The challenge, which is open to individuals aged 18 and above, welcomes both regular and new green commuters. “Whether it’s your daily commute or a weekend errand, every car-free and car-light trip counts,” said Zia Brucaya, RoundTrip Program Manager. She added that the challenge presents an opportunity for people to consider alternative commuting options, contributing to a lower carbon footprint while potentially earning rewards.

By participating, community members can engage with different modes of transportation apart from driving alone during Earth Month, helping reduce environmental impact.
