Middleton High School students Oubeda Ezoula, Sennie Kidau, and Mauricio Rodriguez recently presented at the 2025 MSAN Institute. They participated in a session titled the High School Scholars' Panel: Perspectives on Leading and Fostering Belonging, facilitated by Middleton High School Dean of Students Antonio Hoye.

In their presentation, the students discussed how authentic spaces for student voice can be created with support from staff, SAFE (Student, Family, and Staff Engagement) specialists, and strong school relationships. They shared how these connections have influenced their own growth and confidence. The students highlighted the significance of community, peer inspiration, and the power of being truly heard in enhancing their school experience.

The students also noted they feel well-prepared for life after high school, including transitioning to college, due to the support and encouragement they have received. Their stories underscored the potential impact of empowering students to lead and express themselves, contributing to a school environment where everyone feels connected and a sense of belonging.
