Rep. Mark Pocan, representing Wisconsin's 2nd district, shared several statements on social media over the past two days. Known for his longstanding political career, Pocan utilized the platform to discuss tax policies, upcoming community engagements, and concerns regarding due process rights.

On April 15, Pocan highlighted a significant issue surrounding Tax Day, drawing attention to fiscal policies he attributes to former President Donald Trump and Republican counterparts. He stated, "This tax day, while you and I pay our taxes, remember that Trump and Republicans are trying to give a $7 trillion tax cut to billionaires like Trump and Musk."

Examining local political engagement, Pocan expressed his anticipation for a town hall meeting. In a post shared later in the day on April 15, he announced, "Looking forward to seeing you at my town hall tomorrow."

In a subsequent post on April 16, Pocan raised concerns about the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia and its implications on legal processes. He stated, "If Trump can deport Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a prison in El Salvador with ZERO due process and then DEFY a 9-0 Supreme Court order to facilitate bringing him home, who’s next? This threatens the rights and freedoms of everyone in the United States."

Mark Pocan has served in the U.S. Congress, representing Wisconsin's 2nd District, since 2013. He previously served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1999 to 2013 and the Dane County board of supervisors from 1991 to 1996.
