Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), which serves as the state's chamber and manufacturers’ association, has announced the opening of nominations for its annual Business Friend of the Environment Awards Program. Sponsored by WM, the program is designed to highlight Wisconsin businesses that lead in environmental practices, showcasing their efforts to state policymakers and the public.
Adam Jordahl, WMC’s Director of Environmental & Energy Policy, stated, “Wisconsin businesses understand the inherent value of responsible environmental practices. I’m proud of their efforts and look forward to recognizing those companies that have gone above and beyond industry standards or regulatory requirements.”
The awards program encourages private companies that exhibit environmental leadership to apply. To be eligible, applicants must be headquartered or have significant operations within Wisconsin. They should also demonstrate notable improvements in sustainability, environmental stewardship, or environmental innovation during the 2024 calendar year.
Jordahl added, “For 35 years and counting, this program has shown how industry leaders are also leading the way on the environment. Thank you to WM for continuing to sponsor this longstanding award.”
Winners of the 35th Annual Business Friend of the Environment Award will be chosen by a panel of independent judges from the business community, government, and environmental nonprofits. Applications must be submitted by June 13, 2025.
