Middleton High School honors seniors at annual department awards ceremony

Middleton High School recently celebrated the achievements of 30 seniors in their annual Department Awards Ceremony, held on April 30 at the Black Box Theater. The event recognized students selected by their teachers for their dedication and exceptional performance within their respective departments.

Principal Peg Shoemaker, alongside department teachers, acknowledged each student's accomplishments with individual tributes. Teachers shared stories that highlighted the students' hard work, perseverance, and enthusiasm for learning throughout their high school years.

The honorees for 2025 include:

- **World Languages**: Justyna Jallah and Sofia Altuzar

- **Physical Education**: Kailey Thorsen and Santiago Picasso-Gutierrez

- **Mathematics**: Ethan Bo and Ray Feinberg

- **Business, Marketing, IT/CS**: Nuha Khatri and Micah Hess

- **Technical Education**: Dawson Lehman and June Johnson

- **Family & Consumer Science**: Cora Thomas and Samantha Kleinhenz

- **Art**: Juliana Tamayo Jimenez and Braydon Statz

- **English**: Nina Chan and Eunice Chang

- **Science**: Megan Button and Owen Weisenberger

- **Social Studies**: Giuseppe Mangano and Akshay Manna

Additionally, the Technical Excellence Scholarship was awarded to Stina Stavileci, Sophia Olesen, Matthew Phelps, Deborah Lau, and Cora Thomas. The Academic Excellence Scholarship recipients were Li Ying, Venkat Peddinti, Harry Jin, Ray Feinberg, and Ethan Bo.

The school community extends congratulations to all honorees, offering best wishes as they graduate and embark on new endeavors.
