The University of Wisconsin–Madison has announced the winners of the 2025 University Staff Recognition Awards. Ten staff members have been honored for their significant contributions to the university, recognized by colleagues for their teamwork, dedication to excellence, problem-solving abilities, and innovative approaches.

Michele Kempfer, an executive assistant at the School of Medicine & Public Health, is noted for her commitment to team development and fostering global understanding through student sponsorships. Ernesto Cruz Tamayo from Facilities Planning & Management has advanced in his role due to his mastery in custodial techniques and bilingual skills that enhance team communication.

Bill Foster, an instrument maker at the College of Letters & Science, is celebrated for his detailed work on scientific equipment and welding projects. Amber Andrews from the School of Medicine & Public Health is praised for her mentorship skills and professionalism in interactions with students and colleagues.

Maribel Ibarra Marin's work ethic as a floor technician at Facilities Planning & Management stands out as she tackles various challenges with enthusiasm. Keith Rye from General Library is recognized for evolving library infrastructure and his collaborative approach despite not holding a managerial title.

Pete Sutton at the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences contributes significantly through technological enhancements at Marshfield Agricultural Research Station. Dale Peterson's dedication as an animal care technician improves working conditions in research labs.

Marc Willadsen from the College of Letters & Science receives commendation for his efficient business support services impacting teaching, research, and outreach activities. Lastly, Rebecca Moy's role as an events professional in the Chemistry Department highlights her ability to coordinate complex events while promoting a positive departmental image.

These awards highlight each recipient’s impact on their respective departments and the broader university community.
