The Sun Prairie Area School District has announced the appointment of Danny Miller, Ph.D., as a new member of its Board of Education. Dr. Miller will serve on the board until the spring 2026 election, filling the seat vacated by Katey Kamoku, who recently resigned.
Dr. Miller is currently a teacher educator at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction: Literacy from UW–Madison. He previously worked as a high school English teacher for ten years before moving to Madison.
In a statement, the Board said, "The Sun Prairie School Board is steadfast in its mission to support the success of every child, every day. It is confident that Dr. Miller shares in this unwavering commitment." The Board also expressed appreciation for the eight other candidates who applied and interviewed for the position, noting that "the strong applicant pool highlights the depth of expertise and dedication that exists across the SPASD community."
"The Board is excited to welcome Dr. Miller’s perspective and is thankful for the strong partnership of staff, families, and our community as we work together to help our students thrive," according to the announcement.
