Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) has expressed support for the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026. The legislation, recently passed by the US House of Representatives, would maintain government funding at current levels through November 21, 2025.

Kurt Bauer, President & CEO of WMC, released a statement regarding the bill: “Stability and reliability are vitally important for Wisconsin businesses and manufacturers. A federal government shutdown introduces unnecessary disruptions in planning and confidence for these businesses. WMC applauds House Republicans for introducing and passing fiscally responsible legislation and urges the Senate to also pass the clean continuing resolution to reopen the federal government. Passing the resolution without saddling taxpayers with new debt, from $1.5 trillion in unsustainable new spending, is the only reasonable path forward. Refusal to do so will disrupt Wisconsin businesses and slow momentum in our economy.”

The organization continues to keep its members informed on legislative developments that could impact business operations in Wisconsin.
