Applications are now open for the 37th Annual Manufacturer of the Year (MOTY) awards, which aim to recognize achievements in Wisconsin's manufacturing sector. The program is a collaboration between Baker Tilly, Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC).
The manufacturing industry in Wisconsin contributes over $73.7 billion annually and makes up nearly 20 percent of the state's gross domestic product. The MOTY awards highlight contributions by manufacturers in areas such as innovation, philanthropy, technology, customer satisfaction, and job creation.
Four Grand Award winners will be chosen based on their presence in Wisconsin and overall performance. This year’s event introduces Spotlight Awards to honor excellence in specific categories: Business Resilience & Growth, Community Impact & Investment, Excellence in Product & Process Innovation, and Commitment to Workforce.
Nominations for the awards are open to the public through October. Companies interested in participating must submit formal applications by December 10. Manufacturers can apply for one Grand Award and up to two Spotlight Awards. Winners will be selected by an independent panel consisting of leaders from manufacturing, education, and business sectors across the state. The results will be announced at a black-tie ceremony scheduled for February.
According to organizers, "Organizers promote the awards as an effective way for companies to celebrate their teams, build their brand, inspire others, and create momentum."
