De Forest Area School District issued the following announcement on June 1.
Spring Musical
Naked Mole Rats Gets Dressed hit the DeForest Area High School Performing Arts Center on Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15. This musical, based on the best-selling American Children’s author Mo Willems, focused around the theme of being comfortable in your own skin, and the cast and crew met both virtually and in-person starting in the beginning of March through May to make sure this show was a success.

Cast, crew, and pit from the show include: Alexys Scheuerell, Amber Meyers, Brooks Wilson, Caleb Jansen, Camden Benisch, Clare O’Connell, Dalaney Lange, Dean Wink, Eleanor Treinen, Kade Esser, Kaia Shucha, Kaylin Nesbitt, Laura Kunz, Leah Costello, Michael Seeley, Molly Costello, Samantha Evans, Sarah DeMinter, Sarah Loecher, and Shelby French.
DeFortes & Violet Noise choirs
Despite COVID-19, members of DeFortes Show Choir were able to meet during their last rehearsal on Sunday, May 23 and performed their 2020-2021 “We Are The Brave” set for friends and family. This show, which focused around the importance of standing up for what you believe in and using your voice to be the change you wish to see in the world, featured tunes “We Are The Brave” by Veridia, “Change It” from 9 to 5 The Musical, “Come Together” by Echosmith. This group met 100% virtually from September through March and started their first, in-person rehearsal on April 11 leaving only seven rehearsals before their final performance.
Show band and choir members include: Annie Manzi, Carver Nelson, Claire Nelson, Clara Neubert, Clare O’Connell, Dalaney Lange, Dayna Sheldon, Dean Wink, Eleanor Treinen, Elizabeth Reynolds, Garrett Wink, Gracie Godat, Hannah Lewis, Isabella Gaona, Jack Smith, Kaylin Nesbitt, Lexus Finley, Macey Gladem, Megan Meese, Miah Beiersdorff, Molly Costello, Rachael West, Samantha Casper, Sarah DeMinter, and Victoria Fischer.

Violet Noise A Cappella Ensemble is busy at work for their Friday, May 28 performance at 7:00 pm in the PAC. This group has been rehearsing virtually October through March and in-person during the months of April and May. This group is performing music by Arianna Grande, Lord Huron, Kimbra, and Lin Manuel Miranda’s “Dear Theodosia” from Hamilton and are incredibly excited to be able to sing and perform during this unique school year.
Violet Noise members include: Ari Rowe, Cam Hedberg, Clare O’Connell, Dalaney Lange, Eleanor Treinen, Gloria Niesl Sanchez, Kaylin Nesbitt, Lexus Finley, MacKenzie Wiegel, Miah Beiersdorff, Sarah DeMinter, and Victoria Fischer.
