The Wisconsin Veterans Museum in Madison has reopened its doors with full hours and new exhibits for the community to see.
The museum worked tirelessly to refresh its galleries as well as setting up its new logo and signage.
"Wisconsin Veterans Museum (across from the Capitol) is back open! Admission is free. @WisVetsMuseum," Rep. Daniel Riemer said in a tweet on July 1.
The Wisconsin Veterans Museum opened again on July 1 and resumed normal hours of Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
The museum boasts multiple permanent exhibits on veterans from the Civil War through the present day, as well as traveling exhibits like one on Military Mascots and an art-based exhibit from an artist turned Navy sailor.
The Wisconsin Veteran Museum website states that "the traveling exhibits consist of indoor, easy-to-assemble, pop-up banners available to local libraries, historic societies, schools and community spaces throughout the state."
The "I Am Not Invisible" traveling exhibit is an awareness campaign that began featuring 20 photographs of females from Oregon who are military veterans. It has since expanded to a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the role women play in the military.
The traveling exhibits come at no cost to reserve and host an exhibit but hosts must pay for shipping.
They are hosting a variety of events throughout the month of July, from a walking tour to a trivia night.
