There were 7,263 students enrolled in Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.2% more than the previous year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.4% of them were boys, and 48.5% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, accounting for 66.2% of the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District total enrollment.

Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District covers 12 schools within Dane County, with its main office in Middleton.

Among the 12 schools in the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District, Middleton High School recorded the highest enrollment of 2,309 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Nearly 830,000 students were enrolled in Wisconsin schools in the 2021-22 school year. This is a 0.85% decrease from the year before. In sharp contrast to declining public school figures, enrollment in charter schools rose 4.5% to more than 52,000.
