Middleton-Cross Plains launches first Monthly Update with Monogue for new school year

The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD) has launched the first episode of "Monthly Update with Monogue" for the 2024-2025 school year. The broadcast aims to provide exclusive interviews, important updates, and insights into district activities.

Dr. Dana Monogue interviewed the student founders of Middleton Meals Matter, a new club focused on community impact. They discussed their mission and plans to support those in need.

In September, the district is supporting Hunger Action Month. On September 26th, the Middleton Public Library will host "Hunger Has No Home Here," featuring a panel discussion on hunger-related challenges and solutions.

MCPASD schools have been recognized as 2024 Climate Champions by the Dane County Climate Champions program for their efforts in reducing carbon emissions. Several schools use significantly less energy compared to averages, showcasing the district's commitment to sustainability.

The MCPASD spotlight highlighted Ava Greenberg from Middleton High School, who was named an Outstanding Performer by the Jerry Awards. Nithin from Kromrey Middle School received the 2024 Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award for his work ethic and love of learning.

MaryBeth Paulisse, Director of Elementary Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, completed her Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Edgewood College. Her dissertation explored the relationship between central office coaching and principals' job satisfaction.

Northside Elementary has a new playground funded by the PTO, designed to be accessible for all students.

Upcoming events include StopFinder Information Night on October 3rd at the District Services Center and MCPASD Safety and Security Information Night on October 15th at Pope Farm Elementary School.

Starting September 15th, MCPASD will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with various events honoring contributions from American citizens with Spanish-speaking heritage.
