Alder John Guequierre of District 19 will host the second session of the D19 Exploring the 2025 Budget Series on Thursday, October 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event will take place at Oakwood Village Auditorium, located at 6209 Mineral Point Road. This session will focus on Madison's budget deficit and include a presentation by the Community Development Division (CDD) Director James O'Keefe.

The CDD aims to provide all Madison residents with access to necessary resources and opportunities. Attendees will learn about the division's Capital and Operating budgets, spending details, fund distribution processes, and funding recommendations concerning the city deficit.

Following the presentations, there will be a live Q&A session where constituents can inquire about CDD operations and programs. Residents may also submit questions in advance via email to council@cityofmadison.com with "D19 Budget Series" as the subject line.

Afterward, Alder Guequierre will summarize key points from the first session and discuss preliminary long-range financial plans for Madison, considering both scenarios with or without a successful referendum. Residents are encouraged to participate in an online survey to provide input on potential budget cuts.

Registration for this free event is encouraged but not required. For more information or assistance with registration, contact Alder John Guequierre at district19@cityofmadison.com or call (608) 571-4919. Additional support is available through the Common Council Office at council@cityofmadison.com or (608) 266-4071.

The final session of this series is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., held virtually via Zoom. Spanish and Mandarin interpretation services will be available during this meeting.
