Over the past two weeks, Wisconsin's Streets Division received 792 unique name submissions for its first fully electric collection vehicles. A selection of finalists has been made, and it is now up to the public to vote on the final names.

The voting process is facilitated by Wisconsin Clean Cities. To participate, voters are invited to visit their website and choose names for both the electric side-loading truck and the electric rear-loading truck. The election will employ a ranked-choice system, allowing participants to rank their top five preferred names on digital ballots available online.

Voting will remain open until 4:00 pm on October 21, 2024.

The twelve finalist names for the electric side-loading truck include "Karatechop Elvis," "Trash Ketchum," "Lenny Grabitz," "Sherlock Ohms," "Trash Gordon," "TJ Kilotwatt," "Bob Yucker," "Zapp Trashigan," "Butch," "Malodorous Rex," "The Bindalorian," and "SCON-E."

For the electric rear-loading truck, which serves multiple functions such as collecting large items or leaves, the twelve options are: "Vin No Diesel," "Plug Life," "Electro," "JJ Megawatt," "Ion Maiden," "Dr. Wattson," "Power Ballad," "Titus Detritus," "George Dumpington," "Shirley," "Joule of the Streets" and “Trucky McTruckface.”

Further information about these trucks can be accessed on the Streets Division’s website.

Wisconsin Clean Cities, established in 1994 as part of the US Department of Energy Clean City coalitions, promotes alternative fuels and sustainable vehicle technology, including fleet electrification.
