Local businesses recognized as WASB Business Honor Roll honorees

Five businesses and organizations were recognized for their contributions to local schools at the recent school board meeting. These entities have been named 2024 Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) Business Honor Roll honorees.

Weed Man Lawn Care in Middleton was acknowledged for its $20,000 donation to Sauk Trail Elementary. This contribution allowed the school to purchase new furniture and flexible seating options for several classrooms, significantly improving the learning environment.

SSM Health at Work, under the leadership of Deanna Hahn, was honored for its role in establishing a clinic aimed at providing medical care to district employees and their families. Since opening, the clinic has maintained a high capacity and conducted numerous health screenings and preventive events. "Their proactive approach and outstanding service have significantly contributed to enhancing the well-being of our community," stated officials.

CESA 6 and Josh Borzick received recognition for their support in training district staff on Qualtrics software. This tool aids in data collection and analysis, streamlining feedback processes within educational settings. The expertise provided by CESA 6 has enhanced engagement and improved data management processes.

Thermo Fisher Scientific played a crucial role in launching Middleton High School's CAPS program by offering mentorship and real-world project ideas. Chris Zais led mentorship efforts, supported by other Thermo Fisher staff members who facilitated professional learning experiences for students.

Pre-Emergency Planning, LLC was also acknowledged for assisting schools with emergency preparedness plans and conducting tailored training sessions for staff. Their efforts have equipped school personnel with essential skills to ensure a safe learning environment.

These partnerships demonstrate significant contributions to education through support, innovation, and collaboration with local schools.
