Brian Miles and the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District have achieved the Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) designation. This certification, granted by the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), indicates that Miles has acquired the necessary skills to integrate modern technology into K-12 education settings.
"Because of the CETL recertification requirements, certified leaders pledge to stay current in this ever-changing field of education technology," stated Keith Krueger, Chief Executive Officer of CoSN.
To earn this certification, candidates must show experience in educational technology and pass an exam based on CoSN’s Framework of Essential Skills of the K-12 CTO. After obtaining the CETL credential, technology leaders are required to complete 60 hours of professional development every three years to retain their certification.
The Consortium for School Networking, established in 1992, is a leading professional association for school system technology leaders. Its mission is to empower educational leaders with technology tools to create engaging learning environments. CoSN supports these leaders with essential leadership, community, and advocacy resources.
