Students gathered for a Friendsgiving meal at Tripp Commons in Memorial Union on November 19. The event featured traditional dishes such as sliced turkey, butternut squash lasagna, sage stuffing, and mashed potatoes with gravy. Desserts included pecan and pumpkin pie. Attendees also participated in trivia games and made cards for University of Wisconsin–Madison students who stayed in town for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The gathering aimed to replicate the Thanksgiving experience with friends instead of family members like aunts and uncles. Shantanu Chaudhuri hosted the Wisconsin Union’s Friendsgiving Event at Tripp Commons.

Friendsgiving events are known for their casual and unofficial nature compared to traditional Thanksgiving celebrations. These gatherings have gained popularity over the past decade as people enjoy marking Thanksgiving informally with friends.

The event at Memorial Union was sold out, indicating high interest among participants eager to enjoy food and socialize. In addition to dining, attendees engaged in trivia activities during the event.
