Mark Pocan discusses AFL-CIO anniversary and Trump administration

Rep. Mark Pocan, a U.S. Congressman representing Wisconsin's 2nd district, recently shared several updates on social media covering topics from labor unions to Medicare enrollment. Pocan, who has been serving in Congress since 2013 and has a background in state and local government, uses his platform to communicate important dates and express opinions on current political developments.

On December 5, 2024, Rep. Mark Pocan extended birthday wishes to the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), celebrating its 69th anniversary. He tweeted: "Happy 69th birthday, @AFLCIO. It’s better in a union!"

The following day, December 6, he commented on the composition of Donald Trump's upcoming administration with regard to billionaire representation. He stated: "Roughly 2% of America’s billionaires are in Trump's next administration."

Later that same day, Rep. Pocan reminded his followers about the impending deadline for Medicare open enrollment. He emphasized the distinction between traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans by tweeting: "Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for Medicare during the open enrollment period. Remember, Medicare Advantage is private, for-profit health insurance. Only Medicare is Medicare."
