The Madison College community is preparing to bid farewell to President Jack E. Daniels III as he retires after more than 11 years of service. His tenure has been marked by transformative leadership, leaving a lasting legacy on the institution.

Throughout his presidency, Daniels focused on supporting students, which was evident in his actions and initiatives. "Everything he does is driven by students," said Donald D. Dantzler Jr., Madison College District Board Chair. Tina Ahedo, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Madison College, echoed this sentiment, noting that "students are his north star."

Daniels' leadership was also characterized by a bold vision for the college's future. The creation of Goodman South Campus stands as a testament to his ability to bring transformative ideas to fruition. Seth Lentz, executive director of the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin, praised Daniels for sharing a "bold vision" and trusting partners to make it a reality.

Dr. Marco Torrez-Miranda from the Institute for Equity and Transformational Change highlighted Daniels' capacity for innovation: "Dr. Daniels has reminded us that true innovation lies not only in casting a vision but also in fully embracing it."

Daniels' impact extended beyond the college into the wider community through collaboration with local leaders. He understood that for Madison College to succeed, the surrounding community needed to thrive as well.

Colleagues noted his dedication and presence at various events and meetings, emphasizing how these engagements were never perfunctory but deeply involved efforts. Ahedo remarked on his consistent involvement: “He showed up again and again.”

Dantzler recognized Daniels’ pursuit of excellence as integral to his leadership style: “That is the hallmark of Dr. Daniels’ leadership – a legacy that has made Madison College better than it was when he arrived.”

As President Daniels steps down, Wolfie, the college mascot, contributed a poem celebrating his influence and leadership at Madison College.

The community expresses gratitude for Daniels' transformational leadership as they prepare to say goodbye.
