The Madison College Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Tim Casper as interim president, following the retirement of President Jack E. Daniels III. Casper, who is currently serving as the executive vice president of Student Affairs at Madison College, will take on his new role starting January 2025.
The decision to appoint Casper came after the board voted to restart the presidential search process. Board Chair Donald D. Dantzler, Jr., expressed confidence in Casper's leadership capabilities, stating: “The board is prioritizing continuity in leadership to successfully implement key initiatives and maintain a deep commitment to equity, access, and student success. Dr. Casper will continue the great work of this college: Madison College will be in capable hands during this leadership transition.”
Dr. Tim Casper has been with Madison College for nearly 14 years, taking on various roles including EVP of Student Affairs and leader of Institutional Effectiveness over the past four years. His duties have included overseeing comprehensive student development programs and spearheading initiatives that promote student access, retention, and success.
In addition to his responsibilities at Madison College, Casper previously led public affairs and government relations activities for the institution and provided advice on annual operating and capital budgets to both the president and board.
Before joining Madison College, he held positions at the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, the Wisconsin Legislature, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Upon his appointment as interim president starting January 2025, Dr. Tim Casper stated: “I am committed to providing the leadership and stability needed to ensure continuity in advancing our key collegewide priorities. I am grateful to work at a college with many talented faculty and staff dedicated to ensuring our students succeed.”
During this transition period, Tina Ahedo will step into the role of interim vice president of Student Affairs while maintaining her current position as vice president of Academic Affairs, Regional Campuses, and Educational Pathways.
These interim changes are set to take effect when President Daniels retires in January.
