The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) is offering high school students the chance to earn free college credits through its Early College Academies program, in partnership with Madison College. The application deadline for the 2025-26 school year is Friday, January 24, 2025.

The district's academy programs are held at Madison College and provide an opportunity for students to earn up to 30 college credits at no cost. Each program focuses on different career paths and fields of study.

The Early College Biomedical Academy targets students interested in medical lab careers, providing hands-on learning in bio-health fields. This program aims to prepare students for high-wage, in-demand healthcare careers, admitting up to 25 students.

For those interested in technology and cybersecurity, the Early College Networking & Cybersecurity Academy offers preparation for careers in IT and cybersecurity. Like the Biomedical Academy, it will admit up to 25 students.

Running Start: Personalized Academy allows students to create a personalized program of study. Students work with Madison College advisors to tailor a course schedule that leads to a technical diploma in a high-demand field. This academy also admits up to 25 students.

The Early College Education Academy provides a pathway into the teaching profession for aspiring educators. Students can earn up to 30 college credits toward a Liberal Arts Transfer-Education Associate Degree, with admission open to up to 50 students.

Finally, the Early College STEM Academy is designed for those exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. It focuses on increasing access for underrepresented students in STEM fields and offers a foundation for future STEM careers. Up to 100 students will be admitted.
