Rep. Mark Pocan, a U.S. Congressman representing Wisconsin's 2nd district, has recently expressed his views on various issues through a series of tweets. Pocan, who has been in Congress since 2013 after replacing Tammy Baldwin, shared his thoughts on tax filing options in Wisconsin and voiced concerns over billionaire influence in government and international aid programs.

On February 2, 2025, Rep. Pocan acknowledged the Biden Administration's efforts to introduce Direct File for tax returns in Wisconsin. He stated, "Thanks to the Biden Administration, Wisconsinites can access Direct File, allowing us to file our taxes for free." He emphasized his long-standing advocacy for this initiative and expressed satisfaction that it would result in cost savings for residents.

The following day, February 3, 2025, Pocan addressed concerns about Elon Musk's influence on government affairs. He remarked, "Let’s be clear: No one elected Elon Musk. The world's richest man should not have backdoor access to our government’s financial systems." Pocan questioned the extent of control being granted to billionaires by the Republican Majority.

Later on February 3, 2025, Rep. Pocan criticized actions taken by what he referred to as the "Musk/Trump Admin," specifically regarding USAID operations. He tweeted, "The Musk/Trump Admin illegally shut down USAID, abandoning America’s global leadership." He highlighted the potential geopolitical consequences of such actions and China's opportunity to fill the void left by the United States.
