Madison College has announced a new articulation agreement with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. This partnership aims to enhance opportunities for students pursuing careers in fitness, recreation, and wellness. Students enrolled in Madison College's Associate of Applied Science in Fitness, Recreation & Wellness Management program will be guaranteed admission to UW-Whitewater’s Human Performance major and several minors, including Recreation and Leisure Studies, Strength and Conditioning, Sport Management, and Health Promotion.

Upon successful admission, students will receive at least 57 credits toward their degree. Madison College Provost Beth Giles stated, "This partnership is a testament to the dedication of both institutions to provide effective and efficient educational pathways in this very important career field." She emphasized the importance of supporting students who aim to make a positive impact on the health and wellness sector.

To qualify for this opportunity, students must apply to UW-Whitewater, submit all required documents, and earn an applied associate degree from Madison College with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25. Applicants are required to declare their major or minor during admission or upon transfer.

The agreement facilitates the transfer process for students while reinforcing the collaboration between Madison College and UW-Whitewater. The two institutions also work together on transfer opportunities in early childhood education, human services, IT, paralegal studies, and liberal arts.
