Rep. Mark Pocan, a U.S. Congress member representing Wisconsin’s 2nd district since 2013, recently shared his thoughts on public education and government contracts via social media. A graduate of public schools and the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Pocan has been vocal about various issues affecting his constituents.

On February 4, 2025, Rep. Pocan visited Henderson Elementary School and reiterated his commitment to supporting public education. He stated: "Great to stop by at Henderson Elementary School. As a proud graduate of public schools, I will never stop fighting to support public education!"

Later that day, he posted a more cryptic message on social media: "F**k around --> find out." The context or target of this statement was not clarified in the post.

On February 5, 2025, Rep. Pocan addressed government contracts awarded to Elon Musk. He criticized Musk's acquisition of government roles that potentially direct funds towards himself. In response, Pocan announced a legislative proposal titled the ELON MUSK Act aimed at ending such practices. He stated: "Elon Musk gets more than $20 billion in contracts from the US government and bought his way into a new role in the government where he can direct even more money to himself. Enough! My new bill, the ELON MUSK Act, will end this grift! Stop Elon’s grift!"
