Madison Parks is hosting free ice skating events this weekend, offering a chance for residents to enjoy outdoor activities. The events include "Groove & Glide" and "Skate Cinema," both designed to cater to all ages and skill levels.
The "Groove & Glide" event will take place on Friday night at Heritage Heights Park from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Participants can ice skate under the stars with music and games. According to the organizers, "All ages and experience levels are welcome."
On Saturday, Olbrich Park will host "Skate Cinema," where attendees can enjoy ice skating from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, followed by a screening of the movie Frozen II at 5:30 pm. Madison Parks invites everyone to bring a lawn chair and blanket for an evening outdoors. The event will also feature an outdoor firepit for warming up.
Both events are free and do not require registration. A limited number of loaner skates will be available at each location.
In addition, skate rentals and concessions will be available at Elver, Tenney, and Vilas parks during specific hours throughout the weekend. As the winter recreation season concludes, ice maintenance is scheduled through February 16, depending on conditions.
Organizers advise checking Winter Fun in Madison Parks for updates if weather or ice conditions become unsafe.
