Brandon Maly, chairman of the Dane County Republicans, said that Brittany Kinser is committed to restoring academic standards for Wisconsin students, supporting school choice, and transforming education as superintendent. Maly made his statement to Madison Reporter on February 11.

"Brittany Kinser is dedicated to ensuring Wisconsin students master reading, writing, and mathematics, aiming to restore high academic standards and equip them with essential skills for successful careers," said Maly. "She is the sole candidate for State Superintendent who supports school choice, empowering families to select the best educational options for their children. With over 25 years of experience as a special education teacher, award-winning principal, and literacy consultant, Kinser is committed to transforming Wisconsin's education system. On February 18, vote Kinser to champion our children's future!"

According to the Wisconsin Examiner, education consultant Brittany Kinser is running for Wisconsin state superintendent. Her candidacy is motivated by recent changes in reading and math score calculations. She faces incumbent Jill Underly and Jeff Wright in the February 18 primary, with the top two candidates advancing to the general election on April 1. The Examiner reports that Kinser opposes changes to achievement labels and scores, arguing they lower standards. She supports school choice with parental involvement. Kinser leads Kinser Consulting and previously headed City Forward Collective, a nonprofit supporting public, charter, and private voucher schools in Milwaukee.

The Green Bay Press Gazette reported on January 21 that Republican lawmakers planned to introduce a bill to align Wisconsin’s education test scores with national standards after Superintendent Jill Underly altered the Forward Exam scoring system. The changes renamed achievement levels and lowered cut scores, increasing the number of students in higher categories. Critics, including Governor Tony Evers, say the change makes comparisons difficult. According to the Gazette, the bill would also restore pre-pandemic report card standards. Incumbent Underly defends the changes; however, her opponents, including Kinser, support the bill, arguing for higher academic expectations.

Maly serves as chairman of the Dane County Republicans since being first elected to the role in 2023. According to their website, he is "focused on boosting Republican voter turnout, growing the Party’s membership, and communicating the Party’s positions on issues that matter to Dane County voters."
