The City of Madison continues its snow emergency tonight from 1:00 am to 7:00 am on February 14, 2025. Crews will persist in plowing roads throughout the night.
Citywide alternate side parking rules remain in effect, including within the Snow Emergency Zone. Residents are advised to park on the side of the street with even house numbers and adhere to all posted parking signs. Non-compliance with winter parking rules may result in a $60 fine, and vehicles may be subject to a $115 towing fee.
For recorded information regarding alternate side parking, residents can call the winter parking hotline at 608-261-9111.
During the snow emergency, free overnight parking is available in City garages from 9 pm to 7 am. However, those entering before or exiting after these hours will incur additional fees for any extra time parked. Parking on top levels and metered areas is prohibited; free parking is limited to cashiered areas only. Vehicles should not remain parked in a City garage for more than 48 hours. Additional parking is available at Brittingham Park Shelter's lot on W Washington Ave.
Residents are encouraged to park off-street when possible to facilitate safer and quicker plowing operations. Trash and recycling carts should not be placed in the street but instead positioned in driveways or cleared terrace areas.
