Madison College is preparing to appoint its next president this spring. The Board of Trustees has announced that the search committee met on February 6 to review applications received by Gold Hill Associates, the college's designated search firm. Interviews with selected semi-finalists are scheduled for late February.

Board Chair Donald D. Dantzler Jr. stated that after interviews, the search committee will deliberate and recommend finalists to the board. The board plans to announce these presidential candidate finalists in early March.

The chosen finalists will engage in candidate forums, which include community events and visits to all Madison College campuses in late March. Dantzler emphasized public involvement, stating: “The board is committed to selecting a president with the skills and experience that will allow them to navigate a complex college and maintain and expand the community partnerships critical to Madison College’s success.” He added that input from both the community and employees would be significant in considering each finalist.

The presidential search process was restarted last October when a finalist withdrew from consideration. Subsequently, Dr. Tim Casper, Executive Vice President of Student Affairs at Madison College, was appointed as interim president following Jack E. Daniels III's retirement in January.

The board expects the new president to assume leadership on July 1. Madison College operates three campuses in Madison and regional campuses across Fort Atkinson, Reedsburg, Portage, and Watertown, serving over 27,000 students within a 12-county district.
