A Metro bus was involved in a collision with a restaurant on Milwaukee Street, as reported by the Madison Police Department. The incident occurred when a passenger attacked the driver, leading to a loss of control and subsequent crash into the building.

Emergency medical personnel assessed two individuals for minor injuries, including the bus driver. One person required hospitalization, while other passengers escaped unharmed. The Madison Fire Department's Heavy Urban Rescue Team was dispatched to manage debris and stabilize the structure.

Justin Stuehrenberg, General Manager of Metro Transit, expressed concern for those affected: "Our concern is, first of all, for the safety and well-being of the driver and passengers. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, but this was clearly an alarming incident for all involved." He also addressed the issue of violence against transit employees: "It is also concerning that violence was directed toward one of our drivers. Metro employees are valued public servants whose work is important to the lives of our residents, and they should be treated with respect."
