Rep. Mark Pocan, currently serving Wisconsin’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared his perspectives on several political matters via social media. His remarks address issues related to Republican policies, the Trump administration's actions, and education.

On March 5, 2025, Rep. Pocan challenged the House GOP with a post stating "I'd like to see @HouseGOP try to explain this one..." He accompanied this statement with a link for further context.

Later that same day, he commented on former President Donald Trump's lengthy congressional speech. In his post, Rep. Pocan noted what he believed were significant omissions from the speech: "Trump gave the longest speech to Congress on record. But what wasn’t mentioned? Cuts to programs like Medicaid and SNAP that help the middle class and those aspiring to be, as well as a big tax cut for the ultra-wealthy. I guess that section was left on the cutting room floor."

The following day, March 6, 2025, Rep. Pocan expressed concerns about potential educational policy changes under the Trump administration. He tweeted about his personal connection to public education and warned of possible negative impacts: "I’m a proud graduate of public schools, from kindergarten through college. It’s nearly impossible to understate the importance of the Department of Education and if the Trump admin shuts it down, there will be cuts in every school district in America."
