Madison's Central Business Improvement District (BID) has announced the return of the expanded Madison Night Market, scheduled for May 8, June 12, August 21, September 18, and October 16, from 5-9 p.m. The event, which saw expansion last year to include N. Carroll and W. Mifflin Streets on Capitol Square, as well as State Street and Gilman Street, will again welcome a diverse group of local artisans and food vendors.
Pedestrian data from Placer.ai shows a significant increase in attendance in 2024, with 92,600 people visiting, marking a 16% rise compared to 2023. Since January 2024, 42 new businesses have opened in downtown Madison, adding to the area's variety of retail, dining, and services.
Matt Tramel, Executive Director of Madison's Central BID, expressed enthusiasm for the positive developments: “It’s incredible to see the positive trends. It reflects the hard work of our small businesses, the dedication of the community and the unique culture of downtown Madison. We’re a destination for locals and visitors alike, and the energy and vibrancy of the Madison Night Market reflects an enduring appeal. We’re proud to support our local entrepreneurs and contribute to the growth of our community.”
The event will feature a combination of handmade products, local art, artisan gifts, artisanal foods, and fresh produce, alongside live music, visiting food carts, and pop-up restaurant experiences. This year, the BID will emphasize unique Madison cultural themes with live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
A comprehensive list of vendors and food trucks for the May 8 market is expected to be announced in late April. Additional details about the market can be found through various social media platforms.
